The Department of Festivals is finalizing preparations so that, starting next week, the streets of Maspalomas will be transformed into a giant circus tent. The 2026 Maspalomas International Carnival, which will take place from March 10th to 22nd, kicks off with unprecedented anticipation after being declared a Festival of Tourist Interest of the Canary Islands. This year, the circus theme will infuse every act with color, acrobatics, and the magic of major international shows.

The program will officially begin on Tuesday with the traditional opening float, kicking off an action-packed week where safety and publicity will be the cornerstones. Organizers hope to surpass previous years' attendance figures, solidifying Maspalomas not only as a sun and beach destination, but also as the epicenter of freedom and entertainment in the archipelago during March.

In this regard, the Councillor for Tourism, Events and Festivities, Yilenia Vega, emphasized the effort made to ensure this edition is the most inclusive to date: "We have designed a Carnival conceived by and for families. By moving key events to the weekend, we guarantee that our residents, and especially the youngest, can enjoy the magic of the circus without the restrictions of the school calendar. Our goal is that visitors will want to return, taking away an unforgettable memory of hospitality and joy."

One of the most anticipated events will be the Family Carnival, which this year boasts a lineup designed to get all generations dancing. The stage will vibrate with the energy of Tony Tun Tun, Miriam Cruz, and Fulanito, who will bring the most international rhythms to the heart of the festivities. Joining them will be the music of the El Combo Dominicano orchestra and the talent of DJ Tony Bob, completing a festive day that will take place between 20:00 p.m. and 14:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14.

That same day, the now well-established Children's Parade will take place at 12:00 noon, followed by the grand Mogollón (a large street party) at 23:00 p.m. With this array of events, Maspalomas is preparing to kick off its most emblematic festival, reaffirming its commitment to promoting the destination and boosting the local economy through its cultural traditions and high-quality leisure activities.
