A traffic accident between a motorcycle and a car on the GC-65 highway mobilized several emergency resources this Saturday in the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana. The motorcyclist was seriously injured and had to be airlifted by helicopter to the Insular Hospital of Gran Canaria.

The accident occurred at 1:53 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, on the GC-65 highway in the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, when a motorcycle and a car collided head-on. The Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-13-2 received the alert and immediately activated the necessary health and security resources.

The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) treated the two injured parties at the scene of the accident. One of them, a man with serious multiple injuries, was stabilized by paramedics before being airlifted by helicopter to the University Hospital of Gran Canaria. The second injured party, a woman with moderate neck pain and multiple contusions, was taken by ambulance to Hospiten Roca, barring complications.
