Following the postponement of the events planned for this week due to adverse weather conditions caused by Storm "Therese" as it passed through the Canary Islands, the Department of Festivities and Events of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council announces the postponement of the Grand Parade, initially planned for Saturday, March 21, to Saturday, March 28, 2026.
The decision is made in light of the alert for winds, rain and coastal phenomena declared by the Government of the Canary Islands due to Storm Therese, in coordination with the guidelines and recommendations established in the PEMU of San Bartolomé de Tirajana and the PEIN of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, with the aim of guaranteeing the safety of attendees and participants.”
Likewise, the postponed events have been moved to next week, concentrating the southern carnival celebrations between March 25th and 29th. The Maspalomas Carnival will resume its program with the following schedule:
Wednesday, March 25
Drag Gala, at 21:00 p.m.
Thursday March 26
Canine Carnival, at 17:00 p.m.
Friday March 27
· Rescue of the Sardine, at 12:00 noon, on Maspalomas Beach.
· Tourist Gala, at 21:00 p.m., on the stage of the Yumbo Shopping Center Carnival.
Mogollones, starting at 23:00 PM. On the main stage, Óscar Martínez and Ramsés López (Los 40 Session). In the beach bar area, music with DJ Sammyto, Jonay BJ, and Toni Bob.
Saturday, March 28
· Grand Parade, at 17:00 p.m.
• Nighttime festivities, starting at 23:00 PM. On the main stage: Rafael Caso, Brian de la Cruz, Star Music, Toni Bob, and Leyenda Joven. In the beach bar area, music with Línea DJ, Alejo, and DJ Juanjo.
Sunday, March 29
• Burial of the Sardine, at 19:00 p.m. It will depart from Avenida Estados Unidos (CC Yumbo) to Annex II of Playa del Inglés.
· End of the festivities with the Tribute to Juan Luis Guerra concert (Bachata Rosa), at 21:00 p.m.
The Department of Festivities and Events of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council and the organization of the Maspalomas International Carnival appreciate the understanding of citizens and visitors regarding these changes caused by force majeure and invite them to enjoy the final stretch of the Carnival.
