A 15-year-old Norwegian girl, who was on vacation in the municipality of Mogán, was found dead in the sea on Saturday morning. The investigation remains open to determine the circumstances of her death.
The discovery was made on the Puerto Rico coastline, within the municipality of Mogán, after a call was received at the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 at around 10:30 a.m. Following the activation of emergency resources, the body was recovered from the water and confirmed to be that of a minor.
The Civil Guard has taken charge of the investigation and is keeping all hypotheses open pending the results of the autopsy, which will determine the cause of death. The body has been transferred to the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences for the corresponding tests.
The deployed emergency services acted in a coordinated manner to recover the body and secure the area, in an operation involving various resources activated after the initial alert.
