The accumulation of debris washed down by the rains is causing concern among regular users of this coastal area of San Agustín.

The Playa del Águila, located in the tourist area of San Agustín, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, has an accumulation of waste on the sand after the passage of Storm Therese through the south of Gran Canaria.

Following the episode of heavy rainfall on the island, several users have reported the presence of wood, large debris, and objects washed down by runoff from ravines and higher areas. Among the items found are potentially hazardous materials, such as sharp fragments and deteriorated structures, prompting heightened caution in the area.

Local sources indicate that the state of the beach has changed significantly in the days following the storm, coinciding with the runoff of sediment and debris towards the coast. This phenomenon is common after periods of heavy rainfall in southern Gran Canaria, where the ravines act as natural drainage channels towards the shore.

The situation has caused concern among some families and regular beachgoers, especially due to the possible presence of objects hidden under the sand. Therefore, caution is advised when walking on the beach, particularly in areas where debris has accumulated, while awaiting the arrival of the cleaning services.
