Viajes Insular Arenales Canaluz faces this new season with important new developments, including the debut of a new hull and the addition of new signings that strengthen the team's competitiveness.
The Viajes Insular Arenales Canaluz team officially presented its sporting project for the 2026 Canarian Latin Sailing season at an event held this afternoon, Monday, April 20th, at the facilities of the Canarian Latin Sailing Federation. During the event, the team unveiled the new colors they will wear this year, marking the start of a season filled with enthusiasm and ambition.
The presentation featured a distinguished institutional representation and sponsoring brands: among them Pedro Quevedo, First Deputy Mayor of the city and Councillor for Tourism, City of the Sea and Buses; the Councillor for Sports, Youth and Citizen Participation and President of the Municipal Sports Institute, Carla Campoamor; as well as Ignacio Poladura, General Manager of Viajes Insular; Héctor M. Pérez Quevedo, Director of Communication and Marketing of Canaluz; and Manuel Farías, president of the Canary Islands Latin Sailing Federation.
Viajes Insular Arenales Canaluz faces this new season with significant changes, including the debut of a new hull and the addition of new signings that strengthen the team's competitiveness. After a remarkable previous season, in which they reached two finals, the club aims to continue growing and establish itself among the top teams in the competition.

The club president, Iván Miranda, highlighted the following during the event:
“We’re starting the season with great enthusiasm. We’re coming off a very positive year, and in 2026 we’re facing new challenges with a revamped team. The support of Viajes Insular and Canaluz, two Canarian companies committed to local sports, has been fundamental; without their backing, this project wouldn’t be possible.” The team is confident that the combination of experience, youth, and institutional support will allow them to achieve new successes in a discipline deeply rooted in Canarian culture.
In this context, the addition of Canaluz as the boat's new sponsor is particularly noteworthy, marking its entry into the world of Canarian Latin Sailing. The company, 100% Canarian in origin and capital, which has made a significant impact on the national and regional energy sector with a proposition based on competitive pricing, customer focus, and commitment to the local community, is thus reinforcing its support for the traditional sport and the values it represents. Its arrival also provides a key boost to the Viajes Insular-Unión Arenales project, bringing strength, stability, and new opportunities to a 2026 season that promises to be exciting and full of challenges.

Canaluz, the Canarian energy of our Vela
Thus begins a new season of Canarian Latin Sailing, and Canaluz once again places at the forefront the commitment it has shown in its debut in this traditional sport, following its first sponsorship agreement – signed in October 2025 – with the boat from the populous Arenales neighborhood of the capital city. Canaluz thus establishes itself as the Canarian energy of our sailing scene.
The start of the regattas also marks the highlighting of the pillars that underpin this alliance: effort, identity, tradition, and team spirit. These are values that define both Canarian Latin Sailing and Canaluz, and which find in this competition a unique stage for representing the character of the Archipelago.
With this new season starting this week, Canaluz reaffirms its strong support for one of the most emblematic sports disciplines in the Canary Islands, accompanying its new crew in a year in which competitiveness and passion once again take center stage.
Thus, Viajes Insular Unión Arenales Canaluz begins a new stage in which tradition and Canarian sponsorship come together to continue promoting one of the most recognizable symbols of Canarian sport.
