SPAR Gran Canaria continues its commitment to local products for another year at Gran Canaria Me Gusta.

MASPALOIMAS24H Friday, May 08, 2026

In addition to its stand, the supermarket chain will host a gastronomic exhibition, children's workshops, and offer tasty dishes made with local ingredients from the 'La SPARETA' food truck.

SPAR Gran Canaria will participate in the new edition of the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair, which will be held from May 8th to 10th at the Agüimes Fairgrounds. The supermarket chain will once again be one of the main sponsors of this key event for the primary sector, the agri-food industry, and local gastronomy, demonstrating its commitment to locally sourced products and the island's economy.

Visitors to the SPAR Gran Canaria stand will find a tribute to the island's primary sector and the quality of its products, which can be purchased at special prices as a demonstration of the unconditional support that the supermarket chain has been providing to the Gran Canaria countryside for sixteen years, since the signing of its first agreement, and which has been reflected in different agreements with a large number of local producers and farmers.

The supermarket chain says that this year they expect to exceed 8.500 kilos of local products sold at the stand, surpassing previous editions, to promote the consumption of locally sourced fruits and vegetables among the population.

The exhibition space will feature a wide selection of fruits and vegetables from the island, including tomatoes from La Aldea, strawberries from Valsequillo, carrots from Fontanales, zucchini from Telde, cucumbers from Santa Lucía de Tirajana, red peppers from Gran Canaria, and avocados from Mogán.

Food exhibition, children's workshops, gifts and 'La SPARETA'

Visitors to Gran Canaria Me Gusta this year will find two roulette wheels at the SPAR Gran Canaria stand. Those who make a minimum purchase will win guaranteed gifts, an action designed to enhance the public experience and reward their participation during the fair.

SPAR Gran Canaria has also contributed to this year's fair program with a gastronomic exhibition by chef Borja Marrero on Saturday, May 9, at 12:30 pm.

In addition, the SPAR Gran Canaria group has once again organized its traditional children's workshops, an initiative that each year introduces young children from local schools to the importance of a healthy diet based on the consumption of seasonal fruits and vegetables. These children's fruit art workshops will take place on May 8th, in two sessions: at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

In addition, on May 8, 9 and 10, the food truck 'La SPARETA', which was introduced as a novelty two editions ago, will offer the public attending Gran Canaria Me Gusta a wide menu made from proposals with local ingredients such as tomatoes from La Aldea, lettuce from Guía, onion from Gáldar or arugula from Telde, among others, and will be located in the gastronomic area.
