The councilor and spokesperson for Nueva Canarias – Bloque Canarista (NC-bc) in the Mogán City Council, Javier Romero, has formally submitted a letter requesting the suspension of the "Street Nomads" activity scheduled for this weekend, May 8, 9 and 10, in the Plaza Pérez Galdós of Arguineguín.

Romero's request is based on the alleged lack of required permits for the occupation of public land. According to the councilman, after making an in-person inquiry this morning at the Public Domain department of the municipal offices, the responsible technician assured him that there was no record of any application or registration for the event to date.
Given this situation, the nationalist spokesperson has urgently addressed the letter to the Secretary, the Mayor, the Department of Culture, the person responsible for Public Domain and the Chief of the Local Police.
Romero demands that the council immediately provide the following documentation, which had already been requested previously via electronic portal without success:
* Permit and/or authorization for occupation of public domain.
* Receipt for payment of the corresponding fees for the occupation of the space.
* Copy of the event's **Security Plan**.
* Agreement signed between the City Council and the promoting entity, if any.
The NC-bc spokesperson expressed deep concern for the safety of attendees, noting that failure to comply with these legal requirements jeopardizes the proper running of the festival.
Furthermore, Romero pointed out that this behavior is not an isolated incident. As a precedent, the councilman recalled the "La Marina" event held in April of last year.
On that occasion, the technical documentation authorizing the event was signed on the same day the activity began (April 12 at 13:00 p.m.), when the venue was already fully occupied by stages and booths, demonstrating a lack of prior administrative control.
"We have a legal obligation to report any irregularities we become aware of while carrying out our duties," Romero stated. Therefore, the Nueva Canarias group is requesting that preparations for "Street Nomads" be halted until it is guaranteed that the event has all the necessary legal and security safeguards.
