The officers managed to recover the stolen high-end terminal and arrest the assailant just minutes after the robbery occurred.

The victim, a worker at a food store, suffered injuries after a violent struggle with the perpetrator

The Civil Guard of the Las Palmas Command has completed an operation that resulted in the arrest of a 26-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery with violence and intimidation committed in a commercial establishment in Vecindario, in the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana.

The incident occurred on April 26th, at approximately 16:10 PM, when the suspect entered a grocery store feigning interest in several products. According to the investigation, the individual suddenly crossed the staff-only area located behind the store counter.

When the employee confronted him about his behavior, the man began a violent struggle with her. During the altercation, both fell to the ground, and the aggressor allegedly continued to use force until he seized a high-end mobile phone valued at around 1.000 euros, subsequently fleeing the scene on foot.

The swift action of a patrol from the Vecindario Main Police Station's Public Safety Unit proved crucial in locating the suspect. After receiving the alert through the COS central dispatch, the officers went to the establishment, where they obtained a detailed description of the perpetrator and the direction of his escape.

Police coordination and the collaboration of the victim's entourage, which facilitated the geolocation of the stolen terminal, allowed a search operation to be deployed that concluded with the location of the alleged perpetrator.

According to the Civil Guard, upon noticing the police presence, the suspect attempted to dispose of the mobile phone by throwing it under a parked vehicle. Officers observed the maneuver and proceeded to arrest him immediately, recovering the stolen device.

The victim had to receive medical assistance at a medical center due to bruises on her knees and an anxiety disorder resulting from the violence suffered during the assault.

The proceedings, together with the arrest report, witness statements and the injury report, have been sent to the Instruction Section of the Court of First Instance of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, where a fast-track trial procedure has been initiated for these events.
