San Fernando experienced a massive and moving Pilgrimage Offering this Saturday in honor of its patron saint, consolidating itself as one of the most participatory and representative events of the 2026 Patron Saint Festivities. Residents, groups and visitors filled the streets of the municipality in a day where Canarian tradition, popular music and community took center stage.

The pilgrimage departed at 18:30 p.m. from the area located between the Municipal Stadium and Maspalomas, beginning a route that crossed Avenida de Gáldar and Avenida de Tirajana until culminating in the Parish of San Fernando, where the traditional offering took place.

The procession consisted of eight carts and participating groups: El Poblado Cart; Vecinos del Poblado de Maspalomas Cart; El Patronato; El Coche D Hora; La Quesera; Cuarto de Tula; La Latina; Jóvenes Nacionalistas SBT; and El Tenique, many of them accompanied by their own musical groups, providing a festive and folkloric atmosphere throughout the journey.

Throughout the journey, the pilgrims enjoyed a celebration marked by high community participation, displays of hospitality, and the highlighting of Canarian roots and traditions, the central theme of this year's festivities.

The arrival of the carts at San Fernando Square allowed for the traditional offering to the patron saint to be celebrated, in an atmosphere charged with emotion and popular sentiment, with the participation of residents dressed in traditional Canarian clothing and folk groups that accompanied each of the entrances.

The Councillor for Festivities and Events, Yilenia Vega, highlighted that “it is very satisfying to see how year after year this pilgrimage grows in participation, strengthening the connection to the San Fernando festivities.”

For his part, First Deputy Mayor Alejandro Marichal highlighted “the pride in seeing San Fernando once again take to the streets to celebrate our traditions with such participation and popular enthusiasm.” Marichal added that “the pilgrimage represents one of the most authentic expressions of our identity, where neighbors, groups, and different generations share the same space in a spirit of coexistence and respect for our customs.”

He also added that "these festivities demonstrate San Bartolomé de Tirajana's ability to keep its roots alive, while continuing to highlight the role of the neighborhoods and the people who make it possible for our traditions to continue being passed down from generation to generation."
