The Acomisaba association launches a commercial revitalization campaign that rewards citizens' knowledge of the World Heritage and Biosphere Reserve of Gran Canaria

The initiative commemorates the 20th Anniversary of the Biosphere Reserve (2005-2025) and replaces traditional raffles with direct zero-kilometer rewards

The Association of Retail Merchants of San Bartolomé de Tirajana (ACOMISABA), in collaboration with the Island Institute for the Integrated Management of World Heritage and the Biosphere Reserve of Gran Canaria of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, has announced the launch of the project «PromociPromotion and dissemination of UNESCO figures in Gran Canaria throughés of economic activitycommercial mica».

This initiative will transform the shopping areas of the towns within the Biosphere Reserve into active learning spaces, aiming to connect consumers with the island's natural and cultural values and celebrate the 20 º Anniversary of the Biosphere Reserve (2005-2025).

The project "UNESCO Challenge", treasures of the BIOSPHERE»Learning has its rewards

The project breaks with the traditional model of commercial raffles and replaces it with a system of educational merit and direct reward through the "UNESCO Charter of Knowledge"The initiative will take place in the streets over several sessions, with a dynamic open to all citizens:

•           The Charter of Knowledge: The campaign organizers will give visitors to commercial areas an educational brochure with brief, attractive and interesting information about the Biosphere Reserve and the Cultural Landscape of Risco Caído and the Sacred Mountains of Gran Canaria.

•           The Eco-Challengeriver: Citizens will be able to visit the traveling information stands and face an "Eco-Question" based on the exhibition panels and the information in the charter itself.

•           Kilo RewardZero meter: Those who answer correctly will receive a direct selection of local products (such as honey, wine, or traditional pastries) purchased in Artenara.

A boost to the economyíLet the Canarian identity circulate now

With this initiative, ACOMISABA aims to bridge the gap that sometimes exists between high-consumption areas and the island's protected heartland. The project functions as a driver of the circular economy: the budget is invested directly in producers in the mountain municipality of Artenara, highlighting their role as guardians of heritage, while encouraging customers to shop at small local businesses instead of large supermarkets.

Furthermore, the campaign has been designed according to criteria of attention to functional diversityensuring that the materials and meeting points for these workshops are accessible to all participants. The initiative will be complemented by an advertising campaign in digital newspapers.
