A month ago, the last race and the announcement of the withdrawal

Davide Rebellin had run his last race a little over a month ago, on October 16, the Veneto Classic, at “home”. With this, he had ended a career that had made him one of the oldest professional cyclists in the world.

It was at the end of that career, when Davide Rebellin, born on August 9, 1971 in San Bonifacio (Verona) but raised and living in Madonna di Lonigo (Vicenza), announced his retirement although every day, as happened today, he continued doing kilometers by bicycle.

Davide Rebellin, his career

Davide Rebellin won the First Pro Ride on August 5, 1992, four days before his 21st birthday and until his last race, on October 16, 2022 at the age of 51 in the Veneto Classic, he dedicated his life to cycling.

The Italian accumulated 70 victories, a rainbow jersey as a junior in the 70 kilometers in 1989, 6 days with the pink jersey in the 1996 Giro, two participations in the Olympic Games, and even a period as world number one.
