The fire did not cause any injuries but alerted residents of the area due to the large column of black smoke.
A fire in a restaurant in Maspalomas set off all the alarms among the residents of the area known as 'Franco's Widow' this Friday morning.
At mid-morning, at approximately 10:45 a.m., residents and passersby witnessed an impressive column of black smoke that could be seen from various points in the area.
The fire originated in the kitchen of the oriental food restaurant 'Jangtze', on Plaza del Hierro street. According to 112 sources, the reasons that started the fire are unknown.
The San Bartolomé de Tirajana Firefighters went to the scene immediately, managing to control the fire in a short time. Members of the Local Police and the National Police, who also went to the site to secure the area and collaborate in the emergency work.
The troops present in the area certified that the fire did not cause any personal injury and that it did not spread beyond the restaurant.
