The Masparranda celebration opened tonight paying tribute to “the great friend Suso Guerra”, a resident of El Poblado who recently passed away and who, as described by the first deputy mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Alejandro Marichal, “has been a "A reference person for San Fernando since he has collaborated in the different events in the neighborhood, so he is grateful to his colleagues for this recognition that is being given to him." “This day is celebrated in honor of him,” Marichal highlighted during the tribute paid to him.

After this tribute, the celebration of the now traditional Canarian Juerga 'Masparranda' began with the residents of El Poblado. There, neighbors and visitors enjoyed a lot of folklore with performances by municipal groups such as Parranda El Cañizo, Parranda Las Dunas, and the Municipal Music School. As a plaster for this special night, more than 80 kilos of goat meat, another 80 kilos of pork meat, more than 200 kilos of wrinkled potatoes with mojo and roasted seven legs were served; all cooked and served by the Friends of Maspalomas volunteers.
Thus, one more year, El Poblado de San Fernando became the meeting place where neighbors, visitors and a government group could celebrate a night full of Canarian flavor. The event was attended by the first deputy mayor, Alejandro Marichal; as well as the Councilor for Celebrations and Events of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, Yilenia Vega; accompanied by other members of the local corporation.
