This year, the EPIC Gran Canaria RIU Hotels & Resorts will have an international speaker on 8 and 9 February to promote the island as a unique cycling destination in the world. With half a thousand athletes from twenty countries, the EPIC is gaining strength from influencers of this sport for an international projection.
This is the case of Dani Buyo, the Visionary behind the Gran Fondo World Tour circuit, who will travel to the island to show Gran Canaria as a cycling paradise. “The EPIC Gran Canaria is one of the most special events on the circuit. Since its incorporation in the second edition, it has proven to be a top-quality event, with a spectacular setting and routes that challenge both amateurs and professionals. Its ability to attract international cyclists, together with the beauty of Gran Canaria and the quality of its organisation, make it a reference within the Gran Fondo World Tour”. Dani Buyo travels around the world looking for events like this one, which “have an excellent level of organisation, with a unique route that represents the essence of the place, and that attract cyclists of all levels, from amateurs to the most experienced, to guarantee an inclusive experience.”
“We want to convey the idea that cycling is much more than a competition: it is a way to explore the world, to connect with other people and to challenge oneself. We promote respect for nature, inclusion and passion for sport in all its forms.” For Buyo, “the EPIC Gran Canaria represents everything we want to highlight on the circuit: a challenging course, spectacular landscapes and impeccable organisation.”
The EPIC will also have the 'army' of followers of Ana González, cyclist, influencer and photographer, with more than 140.000 followers “The EPIC Gran Canaria won me over from the very first moment. The combination of spectacular landscapes, the very special atmosphere and the personal challenge that this event represents made me not hesitate to return. It was an unforgettable experience and I am ready to enjoy it even more this time.”

The aim of the Extremaduran cyclist is to “show the beauty of the experience, from the hardness of the route to the rewarding aspect of overcoming yourself. I try to convey to my followers that these types of events are more than a competition, they are an opportunity to connect with yourself, with nature and with other people who share the same passion,” she said.
Also the former professional cyclist and now influencer Martin Mata, with more than 10.000 followers on Instagram, she will attend the event. “The routes and landscapes that make Gran Canaria a paradise for cycling. Coming back now, from my role as an influencer, is a challenge and an exciting opportunity.”
In this eighth edition, Mata will seek to enjoy Gran Canaria and its “tough and spectacular” routes, and at the same time “show everything that makes this event special: from the toughest moments of the route to the landscapes and the atmosphere that one experiences here. I also want to share tips on how to prepare for a test of this level and, of course, capture the beauty of Gran Canaria to inspire my followers.”
Inspiring is the project of Daniel Sanz, cycling influencer and charity worker, who arrives in Gran Canaria after travelling more than 4,000 kilometres by bicycle from Valencia to Lapland to raise funds for the Diana Foundation, which works in Valencia supporting social causes. “The EPIC Gran Canaria has always had a special place in my heart. Three years ago I had an incredible experience, both for the challenge of the route and for the atmosphere at the race. This year, after the challenge I took on in Lapland, I felt that it was the perfect time to return and enjoy this unique race again.”
With 123.000 followers On Instagram, Daniel Sanz will once again face the climb to Ayacata that left a mark on him due to “its spectacular views”. “Gran Canaria has everything a cyclist could dream of: challenging climbs, technical descents and perfect weather practically all year round. In addition, the landscapes are impressive, from the mountains to the coast. It is a place that I always recommend to those looking to combine sport and nature.”
With 120.000 followers on Instagram and 113.000 on YouTube, the British cyclist and influencer Juliet Elliot She is also returning to EPIC Gran Canaria, one of those events that “leave a lasting impression with stunning landscapes, tough routes and a vibrant community that is simply irresistible.” On her profile, she shares impressive images, personal challenges and inspiring stories, something that for her is synonymous with this event, for which she arrives physically and mentally prepared.
For her, Gran Canaria “offers everything a cyclist could ask for: long and demanding climbs, technical descents, impressive views and a perfect climate that allows cycling all year round.”
