San Roque University Hospitals "stands out" for breast cancer prevention

Some 300 female employees of the hospital group will be able to access a free mammogram during the month of October, as part of a benchmark occupational health initiative in the sector.

October is Pink Month, the month of breast cancer prevention and awareness. At San Roque University Hospitals (HUSR), they've decided to go one step further and turn their commitment to the health of their team into concrete action: all female employees over 40 will be able to access a free mammogram during the month of October.

The campaign, under the slogan "We stand up for all our workers," was born with a clear objective: to promote early detection among the staff themselves, as a self-care measure and an example of institutional responsibility.

This initiative covers employees at the various centers that make up the hospital group in Gran Canaria and Lanzarote, and is part of its occupational health and well-being strategy.

“We believe that healthcare professionals must lead by example and raise awareness about the importance of early diagnosis and regular screening programs. In the hospital setting, we are constantly in contact with these pathologies, and at HUSR Management, we believe we must take care of our patients and our staff,” says Herminia Rodríguez Rosas, Vice President of HUSR.

With this initiative, San Roque University Hospitals not only raises awareness of the impact of breast cancer, but also promotes a true culture of prevention, where care is also internal.
